Feel like I just emailed because we went to the temple last Wednesday! But it's been a good 4/5ish days! Quite the rollercoaster week but like I always tell Chan Ji Muih, "It'll all work out!" And it sure did because everything works out when the Lord is in charge!
Chan JM was super sick with a sinus infection Thursday and Friday, so she spent a lot of time sleeping and I spent a lot of time studying and calling formers and potential investigators. Let's just say that I'm really grateful that she's better!!
By Saturday Chan JM was doing a lot better, and we had a super fun lesson! Adi, a recent convert, Ellorie, a less active, and Zenie, one of our investigators came. Tripple whammy! They've all become pretty good friends so we call them the #dreamteam. We cooked Apple Crisp and shared a message comparing cooking to Moroni 10:3-5. If you want to get an aswer (or cook apple crisp) you have to first read the Book of Mormon (read the recipe), ponder (make a game plan), have a sincere heart, real intent and faith (get all the right ingredients) and then you ask (make it). Then through the Holy Ghost (the oven) you know that it's true (it cooks your apple crisp.) I don't know sounds better when you say it while you're making it... But it was really great!
Sunday was a bit of a roller coaster. One of those weeks where you do absolutely everything you can to get your investigators and less actives to church - you call all the right people, you confirm with them, you have other poeple confirm with them, you follow all the steps in Preach My Gospel, you pray your heart out that they'll come and have a good experience - and then nobody shows up.
Which like, let's be real. We're not the first set of missionaires this has happened to. There's this thing called agency, that's super frustruating sometimes, and all the people we work with have it. But I was just really sure that this week was going to be different. So I was pretty bummed all the way through Relief Society and Sunday School.
But I had to quickly repent. Because the Lord always pulls through. And you'd think I'd be better at remembering that.
We have sacrament meeting last and all of the less actives we were focusing on came to church as well as our new investigator, Iris! And not only did Iris show up, but she brought a friend! And not only did they come, but the talks were all PERFECT for everyone that was there.
Big slap in the face for Sister Robinson to remember that all we have to do is work our very best and have faith and leave the rest of it to the Lord. This is His work and He really does it all. We're just privelaged enough to get to help and learn and grow.
Sorry, it's been a short week, but all in all things are rolling along just great! I'm hands down in the best area with the best companion! Pray that we stay together for one more transfer! There's just a whole lot of real great things happening here in Hong Kong right now and I'm so grateful to be a part of it!
It's definitely hard sometimes, but whenever I get rejected or our investigators cancel on us or won't scedule with us, I just remember how well the Aggies are playing right now and how many blessings come from doing the Lord's work! :)
LOVE YOU ALL MORE THAN WAFFLES. And that's a lot.
Love,
SisMoRob
