How Much Do You Love the Lord?

And AGAIN another great week!

It just never really gets old either.

And it keeps getting better!

Couple highlights for the week:

-Sister Shee (She just gets to be a highlight all on her own because she's just that cool.)

-Sister Shee cooks food from Myanmar like a boss and it's AMAZING. We had Sunday dinner together this week and she cooked rice and this corn egg stuff and some tomato sardine thing and we sat on the floor and ate with our hands!  It was basically the coolest thing that's ever happened.

-We went finding this week and got talking to this guy who ended up being a salesman for a massage machine company thing. So while we're trying to share eternal truths that will bless his life forever he sets down his brief case and pulls out this thing that looks like a blow dryer with a massager on the end and flips a switch on a mini generator and started massaging Sister Shee's back right in the middle of a busy street in Hong Kong. I was laughing so hard that I wasn't a whole lot of help! So that was cool. We got his phone number so he'll probably get baptized in a couple months or something.

-A newbie came to English class this week! He had no English name, so of course we had to give him one! Some missionaries are really mean and give people dumb English names like Backpack or Dinosaur... (I heard a mom calling after her son that was running away from her this week and his name was Ocean... So that was a little sad..) He seemed kind of like a "coach" kind of guy so the other missionaries asked me for some good coach names. I started throwing out all the names of all the coaches I've had and we came to the conclusion that Russ would be the best fit! So as a tribute to my comp softball coach of 3 years, I've officially named my first Chinese person.

My quick thought for the week comes from Zone Training. We were discussing obedience and discipleship. One Elder's comment reminded me of something that someone said in the MTC. It was something along the lines of, when you're faced with a decision the question you need to ask yourself is, "How much do I love the Lord?"

That question has been in the back of my mind all week. President Hawks has asked us this week to reevaluate our obedience and has outlined a few things that we as a mission need to be better at. One of which was exercising in the morning and actually getting our heart rate to 100 bpm for 20 minutes. Let's just say that I've had to change up my morning exercises a little bit and am now running every morning instead of doing my own version of tai chi with the pohpo's (grandmas) at the park.

But please don't let the example distract from the principle.

My point is, that when love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the motive for all that we do then we surely will be pointed on the straight and narrow road that leads back to Him.

I love being a missionary.
I love it because I love my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Have a stellar week and be obedient because you love the Lord!

Love,
Sis MoRob
