Howdy from Hong Kong!
Time flies when you're having fun! I can't even comprehend that April is almost over... It's beyond me.
This week was great! Did lots of finding and all the other great things that come along with missionary work! We set out exploring our area a couple days and only almost got eaten by dogs three times and stopped by the cops once - so makes for a good week!
Our investigator Z Ji Muih is doing awesome! She's just loving the gospel and has just flipped a 180 since the first time I met her. She's so happy and really the only word to describe the 59 year old woman is adorable!
We had a little scare this week on our way to eat dinner with her at our ward mission leader's house one night. A woman stopped her and turns out that this woman was from a Christian church that Z Ji Muih used to go to. She half smiled at us and then asked if she could talk to Z Ji Muih is private and pulled her about 10 feet away and talked to her for quite some time. We just stood there because.. what else were we going to do? We just prayed that everything would be okay. Z Ji Muih is just so innocent and I was pretty worried about it. After about 5 minutes of this woman telling her to be careful and all that stuff, Z Ji Muih came back and went with us to dinner, not saying anything about what happened.
After dinner we shared a spiritual thought about the spirit. Z Ji Muih shared about how there are lots of people who tell her that she shouldn't go to our church and that she shouldn't meet with us, but that she feels so good when she listens to the lessons and goes to church and she knows that it's good and true.
Yes. She's so awesome.
There is so much anti here.. It's crazy! We ran into a couple other people this week that had obviously spent a lot of time studying our doctrines just so that they could prove it wrong. It reminded me of something President Hawks shared with us:
"There was a man who worked for the US Treasury Department. His job was investigating cases where counterfeit money was involved. He was so good at what he did that all it took was a quick look at a bill and he could tell if it was genuine or counterfeit. One evening at a press conference following his breaking up of a major counterfeit ring, on of the reporters directed this statement to him: "You must spend a lot of time studying counterfeit bills to recognize them so easily."
His reply to this was, "No, I don't ever study counterfeit bills. I spend my time studying genuine bills; then the imperfection is easy to recognize."
It's the same with the gospel. We have the fully restored, completely true gospel of Jesus Christ. We meet a lot of people who spend a lot of time looking at other religions trying to find faults and justify their beliefs. I'm so grateful that we don't have to. We have it all right here, and all we need to do is really have a desire to know, read the Book of Mormon and ask.
All we need to do is spend time studying the genuine truth and we can know.
It's the real deal.
The Church is true! Keep on keepin on and doing all that good stuff. I love you all! Have a great week!
Love always,
SisMoRob
