Tai O Fishing Village....Life is Still So Good

Dearest All People Who I Love So Dearly,

Life is just good. I feel like I say that all the time, but I just want to make sure everyone is aware. Life is so good.

I've realized the great failure on my part to pass on pictures lately, so here ya go!

Hope you all enjoyed because I'm out of time! (Sending pictures takes up some real time on these library computers...)

BUT. I will leave you with my favorite quote of the week.

"We shouldn't wait to be happy until we reach some future point, only to discover that happiness was already available - all the time!" - President Uchtdorf.

And he is 100% right!! I love you all and I love my Savior! Be happy!

Love,
Sister Robinson

This is Sim. We're teaching him and his mom and he's a champ.
And here is Jing Jing! He's the 8 year old that got baptized last week.
Definitely our favorite 8 year old in all of Hong Kong!
They're building this highway out in the ocean and we went past it and thought it was super cool!! It was super hazzy today and it looks like they're building this bridge into nowhere. The only thing that we could think of that was in that direction is Mainland China. So then I turned to Sister Dudley and said, "Wow! It's so symbolic! We're doing the same thing!" So there you have your dosage of cheese for the week.

So this is Tai O. Basically the sweetest fishing village in the history of ever. They have all these super old houses built on stilts and it's like Venice meets Alaskan fishing village in Chinatown. We were in heaven!!

Because of the level of pleasantness of today Sister Dudley and I decided that we will probably forget our plan to move to Alaska and work on a fishing boat and just move here. A) Because it's awesome. B) Because all the locals think we're awesome because we're the only white people there who speak Cantonese and C) BECAUSE THERE ARE WAFFLES AND A WAFFLE SPRAY PAINTED ONTO A WALL. I was really excited.

So you walk through these streets that are lined with
these markets and everyone comes from all over to buy these dried fish things!
Speaking of locals, this is Cheung Sing San. We said hi to him and he flipped when he found out we spoke Cantonese and insisted on giving us a free tour of Tai O free of charge. It was quite the experience... He was taking us around in and through people's houses and through restaurant kitchens and all kinds of crazy places! It was one of those "is this really happening" moments, but it was awesome!

And we topped it all off with our favorite food in all of Hong Kong. Tau fu faa (tofu pudding).
