Jousahn!
Well they say time stops for no one, and that's probably even more true as a missionary than it is ever!
We were thinking things would quiet down a little after zone training and all, but this week was just as nuts! We had Elder Gong, the President of the Asia area, and his wife with us for a devotional on Wednesday and a big long training on Saturday. It was AWESOME.
Here's some highlights:
1. Did you know.... half of the world's population lives in the Asia area?
Did you know.... there are only two operating temples (and one that has been announced) in the Asia area for those 3.5 billion people? Did you know.... 3.3 billion of those 3.5 billion have never had a chance to truly learn about Jesus Christ? Did you know.... Hong Kong currently has 4 stakes and has plans to split into 6 in the next year? Ya, me neither till this week! The work is hastening in Asia and we have lots of work to do!
2. The entire devotional on Wednesday was completely centered around the Savior and the sacrament. It's a big push right now and for great reason. We read together from 3 Nephi about the Savior inviting the Nephites to come a feel the prints in His hands one by one. He then posed the question, "How would you feel if the Savior offered you the same invitation?" and opened it up for thoughts. Sister Cox (former companion of mine) stood and said, "He already has." I loved that. Every week when we partake of the sacrament we have that opportunity, maybe not physically, but we can come unto Him and remember everything that He has done for us.
3. After the training on Saturday we had lunch and Elder and Sister Gong were sitting alone at a table and everyone was getting their food and sitting down. Sister Dudley went straight over and sat down right across from them, and being her companion I had to go as well. At first I was a little embarrassed... I don't know why, probably all out of intimidation, but I probably would have just gone and sat somewhere else... Haha but I ended up being really glad that she did because we got to talk with them for a long time and they're just great people! It was just impressive to hear their stories about traveling all around the Asia area. It was cool how everything they talked about had to do with either the Lord, His work or their family. And ya, that's probably a no-duh, but it was just cool how that truly is who they are and what everything they do revolves around. Good people.
4. In studying this week more about the sacrament I came across this quote in the Liahona and thought I'd share.
"At the heart of becoming disciples is doing what we promise to do every time we partake of the sacrament - which is to "always remember" the Lord. This means remembering Him when we choose what media we're willing to expose our spirits to. It means remembering Him in how we spend our time and when choosing between a steady diet of pop culture or the word of God. It means remembering Him in the middle of conflict or when temptation looms. It means remembering Him when critics attack His church and mock truth. It means remembering that we have taken His name upon us." Sheri Dew
I just loved that. Every Sunday we have the opportunity to remember our Savior Jesus Christ and the greatest act of love that has ever been performed. We have the opportunity each Sunday to be spiritually "filled" (3 Nephi 18:9). I've had weeks where I've been "filled" and others where I'm too distracted to really receive the spiritual food that is available at that time. It makes a difference and I promise that as we use that time truly be "filled" that it will give us the strength we need to DO what we're promising to do!
I love you all! Have a fantastic week and serve dynamically! (A British guy said that to us at this place we to for service each week and I thought it was great.)
Love,

Oh and here's some pictures! This family is great! They have a pet tarantula named Kazuko (the dad is half Japanese) and we watched him eat a cricket. Best. Member. Visit. Ever.
And there just so happens to be a driving range in our area and it's about 4 American dollars for clubs and as many balls as you can hit in an hour. #pdaybliss I'm going to be a pro before the transfer is over. Don't worry.
