Good Eternal Stuff

This is the Law family. We got the same last name so I figure we're related somehow.
Can you see the family resemblance? Had an awesome member visit with them this week!
Shared about family history and ended with a fabulous picture made possible by the HK-made-famous-selfistick!

She's a member from Sister Dunbar's last area that owns a shop
with everything you could ever dream of in it. Good people.

Hello.

Goooooooooooooood stuff.

Yes. That is what a mission is. Good stuff.

This week we were busy as ever and my testimony just keeps getting stronger and stronger that when you're where you're supposed to be, doing what you're supposed to be doing, the Lord will take care of you.

Example.

I know I've mentioned it before, but we've got this thing in our mission called the "Elder Ballard Plan." When Elder Ballard came to our mission back in February he gave us three things to do and made incredible promises about the success we would have if we followed that plan. Those three things include teaching a full lesson every day, talking to 10 extra people other than when you're finding and teaching a day and ask EVERYONE for referrals. Pretty simple, right? Yes. Is it always easy to do? Not as easy as you'd think. But is it possible? So very doable. And does it work? You bet it does!

SO many miracles have happened as we've doen our best since February to follow the Elder Ballard Plan, all because obedience brings the miracles!

This week we had a few lessons fall through, so we didn't have a full lesson that day. We decided to take a few minutes and call some people to try and see if we could schedule anybody before we just headed out and did some finding. After calling basically all the numbers in our phone with no success we were packing stuff up to head out the Tuen Mun Elders walked in with a few teenage boys that had walked into the chapel that lived in our area (which is super cool because our chapel isn't in our area) and were willing to be taught!

Woop, there it is.

We had a great lesson and rescheduled! Miracles happen when you just do your best to do what you should be doing!

Good stuff. Right?

I've been thinking a lot about the eternal significance of a mission this week. There are so many Sisters that are SO stressed out about everything. Especially this last transfer Sister Dudley and I have been more obedient and working harder than ever, and things fall through and situations aren't always perfect and you just do your best to make it work, but I've been so not stressed. Like at all. And it's been awesome! (And I know what you're thinking..... "Just wait.") But I found some scriptures that I loved and thought were great so I thought I'd share.

8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
(2 Corinthians 4:8-9 and 15-18)

Now I could talk about these verses for forever, but here's my two cents.

Things happen and life isn't always ideal, but I'm so grateful for the eternal perspective that comes from living the gospel. Sometimes it is complete chaos ouside, but our spirits truly can be renewed "day by day" as we do the small and simple things that we know we're supposed to be doing. Maybe our efforts aren't always acknowledged by those around us, but He knows and He understand, and we need not fear when we put first the things of eternal importance.

Good stuff. Right?

And not only good stuff. But good, eternal stuff.

I love you all and I love HK. More than you know.

Have a solid week and remember to keep doing and remembering the good, eternal stuff.
