Leih deih hou ma?
Things are continuing to roll on the home front here in Wu Dihp! Sister Dudley got transferred back to the good ol USofA this last week. Super bummed to see her leave. She's just a powerhouse and an incredible person. She's the first companion I've had that's gone home and I actually truly miss her... like a lot! Haha but my new companion is AMAZING! So no complaints at all!!
The new person that has to put up with me for 24/7 is Sister Hoxer! She's fresh out of the MTC and almost has as much energy as Sister Cox! She's from Ogden and did a year at Weber. She's just so great. Words aren't enough to express how great this transfer is going to be!
It's funny. I forgot what it's like to be a brand new missionary.. I've been out with Sisters in my group or older since April. Learning Cantonese is just a long and super painful process... But Sister Hoxer is doing amazing and doesn't even really need to be trained! New missionaries are the best. We had our 70 year old man investigator named Chung Hing Daih scheduled her first night. It's just culture here, but no men over the age of 60 ever really wear shirts. I was worried she's hate me after dragging her, jet lagged and everything to teach a shirtless man, but the lesson went great, she still has a testimony and we're still friends!
Basically I think I could write a book about the number of times Sister Robinson does dumb things and the Lord makes it all work out in the end. Seriously. It'd be a best seller.
This week we found a new investigator name Ng Sinsaang and rescheduled him to meet us on this bench in one of the estates in our area. He gave us his business card and I'm a ditz and somehow in the packing and exchanging of it all with Sister Dudley moving and everything I misplaced the business card.
(Might be interesting to note: His business card was covered in pictures of bottles of alcohol. Not relevant, but just funny.)
So we show up to teach him at this bench and I'm just praying with everything I've got that Heavenly Father will forgive me for being so dumb and help us find this man - even though we have no way to contact him... (I have no idea how people did missionary work in the days before cell phones!)
So we're sitting on this bench and he's no showing up and I'm getting a little worried and then this little blue card bungie corded to this cart by a nearby tree catches my eye. We walk over and you got it - this blue card covered in pictures of alcohol bottles was Ng Sinsaang's business card!!!
We called him right away and he apologized for not being able to get over to that part of the chyun that day and asked us if we could walk over to the other estate over and meet him there. So of course we did and had a great lesson!!
MIRACLE. Still can't figure out how his card ended up right there where we needed it, but it was evidence to me that God truly cares that His children have the opportunity to hear about the restored gospel! And he doesn't let dumb Sister missionaries get in the way either.
Hope you all have a great week and remember:
"God has not ceased to be a God of miracles." Mormon 9:15
Love you all!!
Sister Robinson
