It Really is THIS Good

What a week!! Seriously. I don't even know where to begin.

Have I said that I love being a missionary, because I LOVE being a missionary.

Cool. Glad we've established that.

This week started out a little interesting as we had to stay in the apartment for a few days. As you can imagine, it's a little hard to do missionary work when you can't leave the apartment. But Sister Cox and I were determined not to let that get in the way of the work moving forward here in Tsuen Wan! We called potential investigators and former investigators for who knows how long, and we saw SO many ridiculously awesome miracles!

Because of those few days we spent much less time finding this week than we would have liked, but by the end of the week had 3 times as many investigators as we usually do in a really good week! #miraclesfordays

I was reminded of Mosiah 2:24

"And secondly, he doth require that ye should do as he hath commanded you; for which if ye do, he doth immediately bless you; and therefore he hath paid you..."

As we were obedient in staying at the apartment, and also obedient in making the best use of the short time we are given here in Hong Kong we were immediately blessed!!

Now let's be real. It sure doesn't always happen that way. We don't always receive crazy, awesome, super visible blessings after we are obedient. Sometimes, but usually not.

But the blessings ALWAYS come.

And I've found that not only do they always come, but if you are paying enough attention, there are always blessings that IMMEDIATELY follow obedience.

I've also spent quite some time this week thinking about the second part of the scripture.

"...And ye are still indebted unto him, and are, and will be, forever and ever; therefore, what have ye to boast?"

I think there was definitely a part of Sister Robinson that thought by going on a mission that she could "give back" or "pay back" the Lord in some way.

WRONG.

It just doesn't get to happen that way. Somehow I thought that maybe if I gave up a year and a half of skiing, and playing tennis, (used to be making waffles, but now I have a waffle iron so that one doesn't count anymore) hanging out with friends, spending time with family, going to school and stuff like that, that somehow that would be "paying the Lord back" for all the incredible blessings that he's given me.

But as I've spent time here I've realized that just is never possible because He just gives you more blessings and more blessings and truly at this point in time I feel like there really is just no room for everything that I've been blessed with.

Beiyuh. (Example.)

Last night we went to the pier to go finding. We met some incredible people and had some awesome street lessons. Sister Cox and I both had a very clear impression to go talk to a woman sitting on a bench over looking the pier. Her name was Ruby. She's from mainland but spoke pretty good Cantonese. She was Christian and had a very strong testimony of Jesus Christ. We were able to sit on that bench with her and all share testimonies of our Savior Jesus Christ, how he has helped us in our lives and what He means to us. After that we were able to give her more - a Book of Mormon - and invite her to strengthen her relationship even further with her Savior. She tearfully accepted the book and we scheduled her for next week to meet with the Mandarin Sisters.

And as I was sitting there I just had an overwhelming thought of "man, does it really ever get any better than this?"

President Hawks reminds us frequently that we don't realize how good we have it. And most of the time we don't. But this week I was reminded of what a blessing it is to be able to have the gospel, to have a testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ, and have the fullness of the gospel restored by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through Joseph Smith. And also what a blessing it is to be able to serve my Heavenly Father by serving His children.

We have a joke in the apartment when dishes need to be done that we have to let each other serve each other so that we can all love each other. (That was a crazy sentence but you get the point.)

It is when we serve others that we truly come to love them. By serving Heavenly Father's children I've come to love Him in a way that I never did before. I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I have to be in Hong Kong, doing exactly what He wants me doing right now, and helping His children come unto Christ.

We don't do His work because we get to pay Him back for anything. We do His work because we love Him.

The church is true, folks! Have a great week and keep on being hou sailaih!

Love,
Sister Robinson
Happy Birthday Sister Cox!!!
