It's Too Good

I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY.

It's the best. If you haven't done it you should try it.

This week was awesome! We went hiking last Monday after emailing up Lion's Rock with some other Sisters. It's this "hike" (really you just walk up a ton of stairs) up a mountain and you can see basically all of Hong Kong from the top! It was amazing. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

Almost as cool as the view from the top was on the way down when we ran into a family of wild boars!! They're like little baby brown pigs. They were adorable. They were right on the trail and must be used to hikers because they just kept going about their business and didn't even acknowledge us. A lot different than the stories we hear about missionaries that go hiking and get attacked by monkeys. It's a real thing. Look it up. But it was great!

This week was also Sister Cox's birthday! The big 2-0. So of course we celebrated! Ellorie, Adi and Hailey hooked her up with a super adorable cake! They're just the best.

ALSO. Had #waffletuesday this week before district meeting! I thought about calling President Hawks and asking if we could change district meeting to Wednesday so we could have #wafflewednesday... But I wasn't so sure he'd go for that so we settled for #waffletuesday. The waffles were still good! Had to get it all done in an hour so we only got one picture, but it was a good time!

Cool story for the week: So clear back when, probably like 2 gei months ago Sister Chan and I met this woman named Mae from Thailand on the bus. She moved to HK 12ish years ago and married a man from HK. He passed away 8 years ago. She speaks pretty good Cantonese so we were able to share about the Plan of Salvation and prayer and it was a very special experience. She is very alone and really just not happy.

We met with her one other time the next week, but haven't been able to meet up with her again because she works ALL the time! She cleans up garbage at some place really far away and really has no time to meet with us (unlike everyone else who just tells us they have no time.) So I've been calling her about once a week and just talking to her and keeping the relationship up. I tell her every time that if she ever needs anything to call and that we really want to see her again and to let us know if she has any time.

This week she called and told us that she was in the hospital. She's going to be okay, but just has to be there for a little while. She was so cute about it. She said that because she's in the hospital she can't work so she has time to meet with us. So we were able to go visit her!!

The trip to a Chinese hospital is an experience in and of itself, but we will save that for another time.

We were able to visit her and sing and share a message. We were also able to give her a Thai Book of Mormon that we picked up 2 months ago after we met her but haven't been able to give her. She was SO excited when we gave her the Book of Mormon. I've never seen her so happy.

The gospel is amazing. It brings the greatest happiness to those who have none. It is a light in the darkness. It is the hope that people are looking for. It brings peace to those that have none.

It's the greatest gift out there, and it's available to everyone.

It feels too good to not be true.

Have a great week!

Love,
SisMoRob
