You Pick

This week was great so here's some favorite highlights:

1. Sam passed the sacrament this last Sunday and was called as the President of the Teachers quorum! (And no, not because he's the only one - there's two of them now.. Haha) It's just been a privilege to watch this process. Such a good kid. All the youth were at Youth Conference this last week, so no basketball, but stay tuned for updates on next week!

2. Funny story: So there are just ALL KINDS of less actives here, and for most of them all we have is a name and an address. We found this great man last week. He's about 75 or 80 and he was just chilling on his couch when we knocked on his iron gate. (Everyone here has their door and then these giant iron gates in front of their doors. Kind of makes you feel like you're in prison, but it gets so hot that everyone leaves their doors open all the time so I guess it makes sense.) He got super excited when he saw us and just kept saying, "Woh! Chyungaausih! Chyungaausih!" (Missionaries! Missionaries!) and let us in. We had to get home so we weren't able to stay for long, but we rescheduled him and came back this week. SO. We took a member with us and visited him again. We got to know him and tried to figure out where he's at with things. He couldn't remember a thing, which really isn't that uncommon. You get lots of members here who got baptized when they were in high school and then went LA real fast and forget everything. So fast forward to Sunday in PEC, we bring him up and start talking about him. The bishopric pulls up his info online and turns out this "Chung Hing Daih" that we went looking for is 37.... who turns out to be the son of this man we had been trying to help for a good half hour to remember his baptism that he never had............. Moral of the story: Never assume! But then it works out because we have a new investigator! So leung go dou dak!

3. We meet the coolest guy this week named Molo. It's funny because Moroni in Cantonese is Molouhlai. So it sounds basically the same. We've decided because of the correlation that he's got great potential. And he has great potential anyways, but it's just cool. Good guy.

Well there ya go. Hope you all have a great week! I was looking through some notes from the MTC and came across this, so I thought I'd share:

"You can serve a mission by yourself, or you can serve it with the Lord. You pick."

You can live your life by yourself, or you can live it with the Lord. You pick.

I know that the Savior loves us so very much. I can sure promise you that serving a mission with the Lord is a whole lot easier, more successful, more fulfilling and just all around better in every way possible than trying to do it on your own. Life sure is the same way. I love my Savior and will forever be indebted to Him for giving me this opportunity to serve Him.

Have a great week and don't forget to pray!

Love Always,
SisMoRob
